Sue Botts, Chair

Sue Botts works at Leidos Biomedical Research, Inc. For more than 30 years, her career in the administrative field has included companies such as Bechtel, Goodwill Industries of Monocacy Valley, Hood College, the law firms of Miles & Stockbridge and Frank, Bernstein, Conaway & Goldman, as well as Hays Baking Company. Sue has been on the W2WM board since 2010 and involved with the program since 2009 through grant writing.  Currently, Sue is the board chair.

Cathy Warner, Vice Chair

Cathy Warner is Vice President and Technology Relationship Manager within the Consumer Lending Technology group at Wells Fargo.  She has worked in the financial industry for 27 years as a project and program manager, business systems consultant, technology manager, and relationship manager.  Cathy joined the W2WM board in 2016 and previously served as a mentor for the program. Cathy is married with three children and lives in Frederick.

Alex Uphold

Alex Uphold is a State Farm Agent. She graduated as a mentee in the second class of the W2WM program in 2011. The program helped her achieve many of her personal and professional goals, including opening her own business and buying a home. She then became a mentor for the program to help other young women with their goals and dreams. Alex became a W2WM board member in 2016. She lives in Thurmont with her husband, two daughters, and their chocolate lab, Remington.

Kathy Frawley

Kathy Frawley served as the Associate Vice President/Registrar at Frederick Community College for 17 years. She continues to be active at the college level as an adjunct professor in the Communications Department at FCC. Kathy joined the W2WM board in 2016 after serving on the Social Enterprise Committee for two years as well as being a mentor in the program. She has been married for 40 years and has two daughters and two grandsons.

Jen Frank

Jen Frank has lived in Frederick for 17 years and works at Frederick Community College in the Finance department. She is married with 3 children. Jen has volunteered for many organizations in the community. Becoming a mentor for W2W has inspired her to reach out and influence women in our community and build lasting relationships.

Leslie Ruby

Leslie Ruby develops and implements educational and enrichment programs and events for youth and adults in lifelong learning and small business development. She has served on the W2WM board since 2011 and helped create our organization’s social enterprise, the W2WM Pop-Up Shop, which combines mentoring, community engagement, service, and fundraising. Leslie lives with her husband in Middletown and is the mother of two children and three grandchildren.

Megan Ensminger

Megan Ensminger is a marketing specialist at API Technologies, Corp. and provides marketing support at Bare Bites, Inc. She graduated as a mentee in the very first class of the W2WM program in 2010 and has been a member of the board since 2013. She currently serves as the Marketing Committee Chair. She also is an avid artist, animal lover, gardener, and volunteer with Celebrate Frederick and Downtown Frederick Partnership.

Melissa Curtis Cherry

Melissa Curtis Cherry, LCSW-C, is a licensed clinical social worker and has worked in child welfare since 2002. She currently is the Family Assessment Specialist at the Frederick County Department of Social Services. Melissa has been involved with W2WM since its inception in 2006. She has served as board Chair, secretary, and chair of the Program Committee as well as a mentor for the program. She lives in Mount Airy with her husband and two children.

Michele Mills, Treasurer

Michele Mills, CPA, is a partner at Draper & McGinley, P.A., a regional accounting firm with offices in Frederick and Hagerstown.  She has more than 29 years of public accounting experience and specializes in governmental and non-profit audits.  Michele has been on the W2WM board since 2007 and serves as Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee.  She has served as the Co-Chair for the annual Clutch the Future purse auction for the past four years. She also currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Frederick Community College Foundation, Inc. She is a long-time resident of Frederick County with her husband and two children.

Kim Johnson

Kim Johnson is the Director of Development at Mount St. Mary’s University and previously served as the Assistant Director for Institutional Advancement at Frederick Community College.  Kim joined the W2WM board in 2016, but has been involved with the program for many years, most notably on the Clutch the Future fundraiser event committee.  Kim is a proud lacrosse mom to two teenagers and serves as a member of her church council.

Ashley Waters

Ashley Waters, a central PA girl turned Fredericktonian, is an avid volunteer for many local nonprofits. With degrees in Public Administration and Non-profit management, Ashley works during the day at UMBC’s branch campus in Rockville. As a wife and mother, Ashley is drawn to W2WM’s mission as it creates a lasting impact on the future leaders and sustainability of the Frederick community.

Julie Castleman, Secretary

Julie Castleman is the owner and director of Mountain Memories at ThorpeWood, where she has worked since 2000. Julie took over as owner of the events business in 2013. Julie joined the W2WM board in 2010 and has served as Vice Chair, Chair, and Secretary. She also is very involved with the annual fundraising event, Clutch the Future. She enjoys spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and all of her animals.

Janice Brown

Janice Brown is the director of the Office of Adult Services at Frederick Community College, where she has worked for more than 15 years serving single parents and unemployed or underemployed individuals seeking training or education. She has previous experience in substance abuse counseling, with a focus on services for women.  Janice has been on the W2WM board since 2012 and serves on the Social Enterprise Committee. She is married and has two daughters and one grandson.
