We all have a need for insight that is outside of our normal life and educational experience. The power of mentoring is that it creates a one-of-a-kind opportunity for collaboration, problem solving, and goal achievement.
Created by a group of community leaders from Frederick, Maryland, Woman to Woman Mentoring, Inc. (W2WM, Inc.) is a local 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to cultivate mentoring relationships that provide women with guidance, support, and community connections.
Through its programming, W2WM, Inc. strives to strengthen, enrich, and empower women by offering access to one-on-one mentoring relationships, group peer mentoring circles, social enterprise experiences, and community connections.
W2WM offers three CORE programs a year (one starting in Spring, one in Fall, one in Winter) for young women of Frederick County, ages 18-35 at no cost to them. The program assists women who desire personal and professional guidance through mentoring relationships focused on career, education, and life. The program is a unique mentoring model that blends one-on-one mentoring, monthly life-skill workshops, networking, skill development opportunities through its social enterprise W2WM Pop-Up Shop, and volunteer opportunities.
The Women in STEM Program empowers women pursing an undergraduate degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) field through one-on-one mentorship, small groups support, and workshops.
Mentoring Circles provide a framework of peer mentoring with some guidance of a facilitator for women to collaborate together to gain clarity, provide accountability, and take action typically on a specific topic. Mentoring Circles offers a unique spin on conventional mentoring by combining women from varying ages, professional backgrounds, and experiences in a small peer group mentoring setting and providing participants with the opportunity to develop and improve their personal, professional, and leadership skills.
