We all have a need for insight that is outside of our normal life and educational experience. The power of mentoring is that it creates a one-of-a-kind opportunity for collaboration, problem solving, and goal achievement.
Created by a group of community leaders from Frederick, Maryland, Woman to Woman Mentoring (W2WM) is a local 501c3 non-profit whose mission is to cultivate mentoring relationships that provide women with guidance, support, and community connections.
Through its programming, W2WM strives to strengthen, enrich, and empower women by offering access to one-on-one mentoring relationships, group peer mentoring circles, social enterprise experiences, and community connections.
W2WM CORE Program
W2WM offers two CORE programs a year (one starting in Spring, one in Fall) for young women of Frederick County, ages 18-35. The program assists women who desire personal and professional guidance through mentoring relationships focused on career, education, and life. The program is a unique mentoring model that blends one-on-one mentoring, monthly life-skill workshops, networking, skill development opportunities through its social enterprise W2WM Pop-Up Shop, and volunteer opportunities.
W2WM is branching out! After more than seven years serving eleven classes in our CORE program, we’ve added a new program specifically for women in transition. Whether it be a career shift, starting a new business, figuring out what’s next as an empty nester, or trying to balance the demands of life, Mentoring Circles provide a framework for women to work together to get clarity, provide accountability, and take action.
Mentoring Circles offers a unique spin on conventional mentoring by combining women from varying ages, professional backgrounds, and experiences in a peer group mentoring setting and providing participants with the opportunity to develop and improve their personal, professional, and leadership skills.
