Mentoring Circles

What are “Mentoring Circles”?

We all have a need for insight that is outside of our normal life and educational experience. The power of mentoring is that it creates a one-of-a-kind opportunity for collaboration, problem solving, and goal achievement.

Woman to Woman Mentoring, Inc. is branching out! With 20 CORE Program cohorts, 3 Women in STEM cohorts, and events like Clutch the Future Purse Auction and Girls Nite Out, and 10+ years of mentoring successes, 2018 brought about an exciting new program specifically for women of all ages (18+) and life stages who want to explore “what’s next”. A truly rewarding and invaluable experience, Mentoring Circles is a one of a kind mentoring program that allows you to be both the mentor and the mentee!

Mentoring Circles occur throughout the year in a themed series. In summer of 2018, we launched the “UNstuck” sessions that were focused on overcoming hurdles. From there we worked with local HR professionals to deliver the “Project: Career Ready” Mentoring Circle sessions for women in the community seeking new job opportunities and career transitions. With Mentoring Circles, there are lots of great themes to explore, people to meet, ways to develop, and challenges to overcome. This year we will have 5 mentoring circle groups of various topics!

Do you have a goal you keep pushing off to tomorrow? Are you overwhelmed and don’t know where to start? Learn to make strides towards goal achievement and self-discovery through Mentoring Circle’s group-based discussions and activities. Find the support and accountability you’ll need to conquer your goals.

Proceeds from Mentoring Circles will support W2WM, Inc. as we Cultivate Mentoring Relationships in Frederick County.

Over recent decades, the portfolio career (i.e. piecing together part-time jobs to create full-time work and or joining the gig economy) has been seen as a way to leave corporate culture behind and gain more flexibility in pursuing one’s passions.

However, the imagination of what a portfolio career “could-be” often pales in comparison to the reality of living and working in the environment. Join this mentoring circle to discuss the benefits and drawbacks of this type of employment, to cultivate and share strategies for obtaining and pursuing new job prospects, and to fully develop a personalized plan for embarking and sustaining a portfolio career.
