Help to Power Mentoring through the 2023 Unity Campaign

W2WM (Woman to Woman Mentoring) is back as a partnering organization for the Unity Campaign, a collective community campaign aimed to serve those who identify as ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) in our communities. Approximately 2/3 of the women W2WM serves identify as ALICE. Through this campaign, we can support our ALICE neighbors and ensure they, too, can be heard, take action, and move forward.

The Unity Campaign offers MANY ways to be involved. You can donate, attend a fun event, eat at a partnering restaurant, or become a fundraiser through a peer fundraising platform.

We invite you to join W2WM during this Campaign, which runs March 8-19, 2023. W2WM has put together a little toolkit to provide you with information on how to support W2WM and how to become a fundraiser yourself!

How to Become a Fundraiser

Whether you are a seasoned fundraiser or philanthropy is new to you, you can join the W2WM Unity team. So many of our alumnae are service-minded and spend time volunteering, which is a great way to aid an organization. Raising funds is another impactful way to contribute to causes that matter to you. The Unity Campaign Platform is simple and easy to share your love for W2WM and ask others to join you – follow these steps:

  1. Click on the following link to get to the W2W fundraising page for the Unity Campaign: https://fundraise.givesmart.com/vf/Unity2023/team/WomantoWomanMentoring
  2. You can either make a one-time donation, or you can make your own page.

If you would like to join the team, click on the white button and you will be taken to a page where you can fill out your information.

You will also be prompted to add your own response that shows what W2WM means to you. There is also language about W2WM already on the page that you can keep. The first paragraph is an example of what I added. You can also add a photo to your page.

“Woman to Woman Mentoring was the key to my move to Frederick being so successful. Through the mentorship program, I was able to put down roots in my new community. I made friends, felt encouraged to grow my business, and learned about myself. W2W Mentoring is a catalyst for personal growth, and I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to join! Thanks to the organization, I am more confident and committed to my dreams.

Woman to Woman Mentoring aims to help women thrive by providing women with guidance, support, and community connections through mentoring relationships.

Our innovative programs combine the power of one-on-one mentoring, peer mentoring, and community-building workshops to help women identify and work toward their goals in education, career, and life. We are a strong community of connectors, collaborators, guiders, and bridge-builders. We use our platform to amplify the voices of others, affirm value, and spotlight their strengths.

Through our three programs and other connection opportunities, we offer women the opportunity to:

  • Be heard. Discover how sharing “you” can start to open doors.
  • Take action. Dig into your challenges and explore the possibilities. Get the information and encouragement needed for new habits to take root.
  • Move forward. Collect small wins that help to create momentum!
  • Grow. Enjoy an extended community that remains committed to your success.

Thank you for helping to power mentoring in Frederick County!”

Fundraising can be intimidating. It can be challenging to solicit donations from friends and family. For this campaign, remind yourself that no amount is too small. Share why this project is meaningful to you, and then you can ask for the equivalent of a cup of coffee to contribute to your fundraising goal.

An alternative to asking for a donation is to offer something in exchange for a donation. For example, you could offer to watch a friend’s children or provide feedback on a resume (or anything that features your talents) for a small donation.
